Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026
Poopie (“we,” “us”) is a bowel-habit and digestive tracking app. This policy covers the Poopie iOS app and poopieapp.com.
Information we collect
- Account: Sign in with Apple identifier, username, and display name.
- Logs you create: timestamps, duration, optional title, stool shape/color/difficulty ratings, and optional photos you attach.
- Social: friends, friend requests, and activity you choose to share (for example that you logged a session — not your photos by default).
- Device: identifiers needed to run the app, crash/diagnostics if the OS provides them, and advertising identifiers described below if you allow tracking.
Photos
Photos are optional. If you attach one, it is stored so you can review your own history and, if you use cloud sync, in our storage provider (Supabase). Photos are not used to personalize ads. Do not upload images of other people without permission.
Advertising
The app shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). Google and its partners may collect device information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and advertising identifiers to serve, measure, and personalize ads.
On iOS we may ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you allow tracking, an Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) can be used for personalized ads. If you decline, you can still see ads; they will be less relevant. You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Other service providers
- Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store, optional review prompts)
- Supabase (authentication, database, and photo storage)
- OpenAI, via our backend, only if you attach a photo — to generate optional private scores. Image data is sent for that analysis and is not used to train ads.
How we use information
To provide tracking, streaks, quests, friends, and sync across your devices; to keep the service secure; to show ads that support the free app; and to respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
Children
Poopie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ads in the app are not treated as child-directed under COPPA.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and log data while your account is active. You can delete your account in Settings, which removes app data we store for that account. Backups may persist for a short period. You can also request deletion via our Support page.
Your choices
Decline tracking when asked, or disable it in iOS Settings. Limit Ad Tracking / Personalized Ads in system settings. Delete your account in the app.
